DESCRIPTION

This a breakout board for the Vishay VCNL4000 Fully Integrated Proximity and Ambient Light Sensor with Infrared Emitter and I²C Interface.   It's a neat little board that allows you take ambient light readings, measured in lux, which closely resembles what the human eye sees.

It also has a built in proximity detector that can sense the proximity of an object up to 200mm away.  And best of all all the necessary filtering is done onboard so it's as easy as just taking a reading via I²C.
